Publisher's Description
Bunky cannot wait for the summer holidays! Soon, his entire family, including cousin Rodney, his little Wolf Plum, and Bunky's best friend, Rosalia, travel to the North Pole in order to visit Santa Claus. During their stay at the North Pole, Bunky will have to challenge himself while diligently studying for the Golden Decimal Mathematical Contest. As a result, he will learn more about himself and about the mysterious ways in which one's noble dreams come true. Eventually, he will also encounter the Northern Star. Bunky and the Summer Wish is a story about perseverance, personal integrity, self-acceptance, and finding one's true worth and inner strength in a world seemingly dominated by competition. While Bunky makes a wish upon a star on a warm summer evening, he also makes a solemn promise to do everything in his might to impress those whom he loves the most--especially his beloved Rosalia. Throughout the story, he will learn more about his true value as a person and discover the importance of holding on to one's dreams while having faith in the righteousness of one's heart. It is the story of an imperfect yet noble hero--the story of almost every reader.

This time, you accompany little Bunky as he embarks on a summer adventure to teach you a new lesson with each step of the way, most importantly, that no matter the circumstances, you can become a true hero of your own life.”
“Bunky and the Summer Wish is a remarkable book that beautifully conveys an important message about friendship, courage, and the magic of believing in oneself. A must-read for children and adults alike, it inspires and uplifts with its heartwarming story and charming characters.”
“Readers acquainted with Aleksandra Tryniecka’s first children’s novel, Bunky and the Walms, cannot fail to guess that her second novel, Bunky and the Summer Wish, is undoubtedly a sequel. However, the second novel, though similar in the art of plotting an adventurous children’s tale, maintaining the eloquence of the narrative language, creating fictional animal characters who share a considerable space of human traits and behavior, is also richer in the narrative canvas and the lively style of introducing characters whose moods vary as skillfully dramatized in various situations throughout the tale.”
“The new fairy tale by Aleksandra Tryniecka, Bunky and the Summer Wish, is yet another magical journey in the wonderful and sometimes unexpected, but always welcome, adventures of childhood. As we lose ourselves in the universe, or Bunkiverse, of Tryniecka’s heroes, we find that we are safely and cozily wrapped up in the warmth, kindness and selfless love that make it up.”
“Bunky and the Summer Wish combines all the great qualities of a children’s book: cute, imaginative, good hearted, opportunity for learning, unifying of community and family, a great vocabulary builder, descriptions of situations involving everyday activities as well as once in a lifetime thrilling adventures. Aleksandra Tryniecka hones her experience teaching English literature in Poland to deliver a high quality, epic children’s novel.”
“In this new book by Aleksandra Tryniecka, Bunky embarks on an adventure to test and confirm his heroism. As befits a hero, he is not afraid of anything (apart from mathematics). In his summer trip, he has the chance to become the ‘hero of his life.’ The key to his success lies in his philosophy: ‘That’s how everything works in this universe—you smile, and someone smiles back at you.’ A wonderful (bunkyful) story for the summer vacation!”
