Publisher's Description

Geezers and Goozers is a book of funny stories about men and women in their senior years. We will hopefully live long enough to become a Geezer or Goozer. Richard H. Cox told the stories in this book as the authority, sharing and reliving them in the voices to portray the characters. Cox and his wife taught his children that life is what one makes of it, and what we have made or done with life will live long after we are gone. Whether tears, laughter, or stories to pass on to generations to come, may we choose to live it to the fullest, realizing that each day is a gift. May we grow with grace, love, and a passion to share our experiences, called life, with others who will also grow old after we are long gone. Cox hopes the readers find a bit of themselves in these stories, which he has shared and put to paper. May the reader reflect on life and see the stories developing that will touch others.

“Dr. Cox is an amazing wordsmith, and this book is a precious gem. He combines wisdom and humor to teach us about our last lap of our earthly race. It is a reminder of the impermanence of this physical life, the importance to invest in our spiritual, eternal life and ‘lay up our treasures in heaven.’”

Donna Ames

“This book is filled with a mouthful of humor, a headful of wisdom, and a heartful of compassion. It will at the same time excite your mind, make you think, and understand a bit more about your loved ones and your future.”

“Geezers and Goozers is a delightful book about the foibles of increasing years. It humorously and sensitively addresses many issues we face with sound psychological information and common sense. “Aside from being humorous and enjoyable, Geezers is a must read for anyone who will experience aging within the family, via friends, or one’s own self. Drawing from decades of professional personal experiences, Dr. Cox, now a geezer himself, delivers a humanistic and teaching guidebook on our aging populations.”
