How is God to be worshipped? In our modern context there are so many approaches people take to the worship of God, both corporately as well as individually. The greatest issue the evangelical church faces in our time is not the decline in the morality of our society or even the secularization of our Western context; rather, it is the forsaking of the true worship of God. It is the neglect of living out a cherished doctrine of the reformation "Sola Scriptura." God is the object and consumer of worship. Therefore, his word given to us governs us in our worship of him. The people of Israel are told by Moses in Deut 12:32: "Whatever I command you, you shall be careful to do; you shall not add to nor take away from it." The Lord Jesus told the Samaritan women in John 4:24, "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." God spells out with crystal clarity how his redeemed are to worship him. In True Worship we will explore what biblical worship of the triune God is and why it is crucial in our time and for all time.

“Relying on Holy Scripture, historic confessions, and his keen observations of Christianity and culture, the Reverend Justin Miller, faithful pastor, careful writer, and concerned churchman, has penned a new book that deserves a reading. True Worship by Justin Miller is a solid and trustworthy contribution to the field of worship, especially in the Baptist tradition. In a day in which the doxological liturgy of the church is weakened from an anemia brought on by cultural infections, Pastor Miller’s new work will be good medicine for all evangelicals. I urge you to take and read.”

Michael A. Milton

“Justin Miller has administered the antidote to the disease plaguing so much of evangelicalism. This straightforward and compelling case for God-centered, God-prescribed worship is a much-needed correction to the consumer-driven productions passing for worship in so many churches. This book should be required reading for every believer.”

Blain Craig

“An excellent and helpful summary of the regulative principle of worship. I would recommend this short work to any pastor or layperson who takes the worship of God seriously. It is a needed corrective to much that takes place today in the name of worship. May the Lord use it to help restore the faithful, Christ-centered worship of his church.”

S. Scott Lee

“Worship. It’s something that baffles the minds of students, humbles the task of preachers, and consumes the minds of believers. Yet there is currently much confusion on the subject. Justin Miller brings biblical clarity and theological understanding in his work, True Worship, to this ongoing discussion and debate. Read this work to fan the flame of your own heart to join with the heavenly angels in crying forth in worship, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy.’”
