Beatitudes, Not Platitudes

Christian Living

“The Beatitudes are spiritual treasures. They are like diamonds that never lose their value or beauty with the passing of time. However, too often our church theologies and cultural challenges gloss them over with a thick veneer that hides their true meaning. In Beatitudes, Not Platitudes, Paul Louis Metzger, skillfully wipes off the dust, helping the reader rediscover the true light, color and symmetry of these great diamonds. Metzger’s style is clear, direct, biblical, and well-illustrated.”

The Gospel and the Land of Promise

Theology

“I salute the brilliant scholarship, biblical integrity, and keen commitment to justice that emanates from every chapter of The Gospel and the Land of Promise. This book will be a valuable tool in the hands of laypersons, teachers, pastors, and scholars who seek to understand the political and theological realities in Israel/Palestine in the light of God's word. From New Zealand, the farthest country from the land of promise, comes this dynamic voice of reason and compassion.”
