Aloys Grillmeier previously served as Professor of Dogmatics at St. Georgen Theological Seminary in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and acted as an expert theologian at the Second Vatican Council. A cardinal-deacon of the Catholic Chruch, Grillmeier wrote Christ in Christian Tradition, Volume One (1988) and Christ in Christian Tradition, Volume Two (1996).
