Motioning the Way

Bible Studies & Devotionals

“From experiences as a pastor, church executive, posts at university, from working for the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany, and now for GNC/LWF I personally would see this book as theologically well-reflected Erbauungsliteratur in the best sense of the word—that accepts God and religion as a reality, that supports one’s own thinking about aspects of traditional, still valid terms like Advent, that starts from serious exegetical and biblical insight, that offers personal Christian insight of a learned man to be thought about, and that points at basic kinds of patterns of human and Christian life and thinking.”

The Horizon of Faith

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“This book is a wonderful impulse for one’s own further thinking, for general and deep questions about Christian life, also in contemporary times—and in a way that is not as unfortunately pressing or tendential as many other publications. There could be a need and a gap in the German market exactly for personal, academically based, and exegetically answerable literature that is not overloaded with methodology, didactics, and specialists’ details—especially commenting on St. John’s Gospel! Interested and—in the best sense—pious readers could find here exactly the insight and impulses they are looking for.”
