“Kallenberg's understanding and use of the design process allows readers to embrace problems of increasing ethical density. Not only will this appeal to engineers, but it will guide them toward appreciating all the gray areas in real decision making.”

“Holy Spirit. I believe that one of the first blessings of this united prayer will be to direct attention to the reasons why prayer is not more visibly answered as well as preparation for receiving answers to prayer. In my reading on this subject as well as my observation of the lives of believers and my own personal experience, I have been deeply impressed with one thought: Our prayer for the work of the Holy Spirit through us can only be answered as His indwelling in every believer is acknowledged and lived out. We have the Holy Spirit within us; only he who is faithful in the small things will receive the greater. As we first yield ourselves to be led by the Spirit, to confess His presence in us, and as every believer realizes and accepts His guidance in his daily life, God will entrust to us larger measures of His work. If we give ourselves entirely to His ruling within us, He will give more of himself to us and work through us. My one desire is that the Lord will use what I have written to make clear and impress on every reader this truth: It is as our indwelling life that the Holy Spirit must be known. In a living, adoring faith, the Spirit’s indwelling must be accepted and treasured until it becomes part of the consciousness of the new person in Christ: The Holy Spirit possesses me. In this faith, the whole life, even in the smallest things, must be surrendered to His leading, while all that is of the flesh or self must die. If in this faith we wait on God for His divine leading and working, placing ourselves entirely at His disposal, our prayer cannot remain unanswered. There will be manifestations of the Spirit’s power in the church and the world such as we could not dare to hope. The Holy Spirit only requires vessels that are entirely set apart to Him. He delights to manifest in us the glory of Christ our Lord. I commit each beloved fellow believer to the teaching of the Holy Spirit. May we all, as we study His work, be partakers of the anointing that teaches us all things.”
