Disarming Leviathan

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Disarming Leviathan moves the conversation around Christian nationalism in the United States forward by providing constructive guidelines for how American Christians can faithfully respond to Christian nationalism's destructive influence. Campbell's pastoral heart permeates every word and provides a vivid example for how to stand for truth and love for the benefit of all—whether we reject Christian nationalism or not.”

How White Evangelicals Think

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“How White Evangelicals Think is a book that meets the current moment. Drawing on decades of clinical expertise paired with an insider knowledge of the movement, Dave Verhaagen highlights the barriers facing white evangelicalism with an unsparing yet empathetic spirit. Those inside white evangelicalism as well as those outside it will benefit from wrestling with what Verhaagen shows us.”

Jesus and the Powers

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Jesus and the Powers helps us think clearly and deeply about what Christians are called to be and do in our present day. It casts a vision that takes seriously God’s call to engage in the work of service, sacrifice, and reconciliation to the benefit of everyone around us—in Wright and Bird’s words, to ‘build for the kingdom.’ Any fellow Christians wrestling with the question, ‘Where do we go from here?’ would do well to receive what is shared within these pages.”

Ministers of Propaganda

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“I couldn’t put this book down. Coley skillfully provides a framework that reveals how and why influential portions of American Christianity have consistently failed to embody the command of Jesus to love our neighbors as ourselves. Equipped with this knowledge, readers will be able to recognize these mechanisms at work, faithfully confront those advocating only for self-interested expressions of Christianity, and pursue a more just future for all.”

The Christian Past That Wasn't

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“With a clarity of purpose and pen, Throckmorton unveils how the most pernicious lies that perpetuate the myths of Christian nationalism are just that: lies. I know I will refer to this book time and again to quickly and easily remind myself of our collective truth--America's heritage is one of religious liberty, tolerance, and pluralism.”

The Religion of American Greatness

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“I'm grateful to Paul Miller for writing this book. It stretched and challenged me. He has done a great service for all of us concerned about liberal democracy and the Christian church. At points, the writing crackles with intensity. I will be recommending this work to anyone intent on responding both theologically and politically to the threat of Christian nationalism.”
