B. Lois Thieszen Preheim studied at Freeman Junior College and earned a specialist degree in administration and a Ph.D. in education, curriculum, and instruction at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, as well as a master of divinity at Associated (now Anabaptist) Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Preheim previously served as a kindergarten-twelve principal and wrote Trailing the Schoolchildren's Blizzard (2021).
