Formed to Lead

Church Leadership & Ministry

“When the church in the West lapsed into business models for leadership development, leader formation in the image of Christ lapsed right along with it. Jason Jensen offers a corrective rooted in the formation of Jesus himself. Exercises invite readers to follow the way of Jesus as disciples in community. While primarily Western and evangelical in theology and tone, practices also include walking the labyrinth and praying with icons. I recommend this book to pastors and leaders seeking to set aside business modalities and instead renew their identity as followers of Jesus called to lead.”

The Power of Group Prayer

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“Anyone who has been around the church world knows that group prayer meetings can be endurance exercises in spiritual awkwardness. The Power of Group Prayer mercifully puts an end to all that. Here is a compelling and accessible how-to manual that draws us into genuine communion with God through prayer for the sake of God's mission. With the simple humility of rich, personal, lived experience, Carolyn Carney brings a powerful spiritual authority to this insightful guide to effective group prayer. I recommend it to any group who longs to gather together to align with God's heart and grow in their shared experience of effective, creative, powerful, and joy-filled prayer.”
