Hopeful Realism in Urban Ministry

Church Leadership & Ministry

“At one point in this book, Morris characterizes one who hopes as one who shows up. After a lifetime of showing up, all who share his passion for urban ministry--past, present, and future--will be grateful that he has showed up with this theologically serious, resourceful, and realistic reflection on the needed interaction of hope, justice, and prayer in the work of such ministries.”

Ten Steps on Freedom Road

Discipleship & Christian Education

“Ten Steps on Freedom Road is a gift for those who yearn for a time when the wisdom and guidance available in the biblical tradition for the life abundant is recovered from the authoritarian and arbitrary caricatures that so often dominate current conversations about the Bible. By rediscovering the Ten Commandments through the lens of ‘freedom,’ in a way that speaks to the present context, Badertscher has created an important resource for Christian educators.”
