Simply Mary

History & Biography

“Inspired by direct encounter with Mary the Mother of Jesus, resulting in a physical healing, Dr. Prothero guides us through Gospel, apocryphal, patristic, and contemporary explorations of Mary. In the spirit of Ignatian spirituality, he uses his own imagination to envision an interpretive midrash of Mary’s life. This book is a welcome resource for interreligious dialogue on Mary, the Mother of Jesus.”

The Form of Faith

“Dr. James Prothero’s gift to us of The Form of Faith is the transparent and honest journey of a soul. I am reminded of Ignatius Loyola’s Spiritual Exercises: remembrance of the foundational events in our life where God has embraced us with His Grace fortifies our deepest sense of gratitude which is the very ballast of our soul. Dr. Prothero affirms this guidance with his heartfelt narrative.”

The Stable Door

Theology

“James Prothero and his spiritual friend, C. S. Lewis, encounter our imagination, intellect, and skepticism as they nurture our holy longing for God. In The Stable Door, we will learn how recognition leads to belief and a deeper personal relationship with Jesus. In his many years of intensive study and presentation of workshops on C. S. Lewis, James shares with us a profound understanding of Lewis’s writings on spirituality.”
