Williams is a surgeon who previously served as a congressional health policy advisor, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Fellow at the National Academy of Medicine, and a professor of trauma and acute care surgery at University of Chicago Medicine. Williams studied at the Air Force Academy and Harvard, and wrote The Bodies Keep Coming (2023).
