Theology
“With care and weighty biblical and historical argumentation, Grudem applies his clear-headed reasoning to show where the Free Grace view has gone wrong. Because this disagreement has to do with the very nature of the gospel, saving faith, and the basis of assurance, it is critical that Christians understand rightly what Scripture teaches on these matters. “Free Grace” Theology provides an excellent guide to understanding why the traditional Protestant and Reformed view of these matters accurately expresses biblical teaching and where the Free Grace view misleads. Every Christian can benefit from reading this book, to grow in clarity and conviction of understanding of what salvation by faith alone truly means.”
Bible Studies & Devotionals
“What a gift to earnest, Bible-loving, Bible-searching believers! The organization and structure of the Bible study format presented through the Knowing the Bible series is so well conceived. Students of the Word are led to understand the content of passages through perceptive, guided questions, and they are given rich insights and application all along the way in the brief but illuminating sections that conclude each study. What potential growth in depth and breadth of understanding these studies offer. One can only pray that vast numbers of believers will discover more of God and the beauty of his Word through these rich studies.”
Discipleship & Christian Education
“Who could deny that the responsibility to make disciples would be at the top of the list of what Jesus wants/commands his people to do? Yet, who would deny that most of us don't know quite what that is or how to do it? Dann Spader's 4 Chair Discipling blends rich biblical instruction and insight along with skilled and fruitful experience to help Christians understand and embrace the call to make disciples. Following Jesus requires this of us, and Spader's work provides hope and confidence in understanding how Jesus would have us to proceed.”
Theology
“While the doctrine of angels and demons may be less central than doctrines such as the Trinity, the hypostatic union, and substitutionary atonement, nevertheless angels and demons play a role in nearly every other doctrine of the Christian faith. In fact, what Graham Cole successfully does in this volume is demonstrate just how important their role is to the outworking of God’s plans and purposes in creation, in providence, and in all of redemptive history. I am deeply grateful for the careful attention he has shown to biblical teaching, along with his fair and winsome interaction with scholarship throughout this volume. The Christian faith as well as the Christian life is affected by the role and activity of angels and demons in significant ways, and this volume goes a long way in informing us of just how much we may have been missing.”
Christian Living
“Naselli and Crowley have produced a book of deep and broad practical relevance for living the Christian life. We are often far too little aware of the role of our consciences in our day-to-day lives, while the truth is, God has given us those faculties as part of the divinely designed means to keep us on the path of righteousness. I found their discussion of the recalibration of the conscience, and of how to deal with fellow Christians who have different senses of right and wrong, to be filled with biblical wisdom and enormous insight. Here is a book that promises great reward for those who will follow not only its clear discussion but also its biblical admonition.”
Apologetics
“Cabal and Rasor have provided an extraordinarily lucid and winsome guide to traversing the creation vs. evolution, and old-earth vs. young earth debates of our day. The authors endeavor to be fair, honest, and forthright in their description of the various views, and they practice what they preach, that is, they present a charitable approach to assessing the issues and positions involved in the complex web of these current debates. Readers will find this book enlightening, engaging, and greatly informative. But even more importantly, they will see a model for dealing with controversial issues in a way that honors Christ, seeks to know and uphold the truth, and shows charity toward others with whom we might differ. I’m deeply grateful for the wisdom this book puts forth and encourage all interested in these issues to consider carefully its weighty arguments and timely admonitions.”
Theology
“In a day where sound bites and tweets have, for many, taken the place of sustained, careful, constructive thinking on demanding theological and philosophical issues, Bruce Reichenbach offers a feast of carefully researched and reasoned reflections on one of the most difficult of all areas: divine providence. While we hold several fundamentally different theological commitments, I share with the author a commitment to the crucial importance of the issues with which he deals so skillfully, and I appreciate also the clarity and thoroughness of his writing. For one working from commitments of libertarian freedom and general sovereignty, I know of no better treatment of divine providence. Although readers may draw different conclusions, all will be both stimulated and informed deeply from this excellent treatment.”
Theology
“Some books confuse and muddy; others clarify and enlighten. J.J. Routley’s work on the eternal submission of the Son (ESS) is definitely in the latter category. For those who want to understand aspects of Trinitarian doctrine more precisely, and particularly for those who would like to see a capable defense of ESS, which also upholds the full equality and divine identity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Routley has provided a commendable defense. . . . On this subject where much confusion exists, I heartily commend this thoughtful and compelling treatment.”
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“Finally Free provides biblical and wise discussions that offer specific, practical steps toward liberation from the clutches of pornography. Ultimately, the gospel of Jesus Christ is what sets us free here, as it does in every area, and Health Lambert lays out the joyous pathway to experience the gospel’s true and lasting freedom.”
Theology
“With clarity and brevity, Stephen Nichols presents the intriguing development of the doctrine of Christ over the early centuries of the church. His account of the key councils and theological proposals is written in a very simple and readable style, and the reader is made aware of how much was at stake 'for us and for our salvation' in these very crucial debates.”
Preaching & Worship
“Praise for Gather God’s People Gather God’s People is a manual for corporate worship filled with wisdom, practicality, and biblical rooting. Whether or not one holds to the exact form or philosophy of worship put forth in this book, every reader will find great stimulation and strong biblical support for each of the various aspects of the theology and practice of worship advanced. Few books discuss with such clarity the range of issues and practices this book takes up, and it does so in an engaging and winsome manner. As pastors and worship leaders take to heart insights from this book, local churches and their worship services will surely be blessed.”
Marriage, Family & Relationships
“While many popular treatments of marriage and the family are available, very few have explored with care and precision Scripture’s own teaching on these crucial subjects. Köstenberger does not avoid the hard contemporary issues of gender and sexuality but addresses them with sensitivity combined with keen biblical insight.”
Christian Living
“All interested in the development of feminism in the 20th century will greatly appreciate the excellent scholarship and fair descriptive analysis offered by Margaret Köstenberger. Evangelicals in particular will applaud the effort to set the record straight on Jesus. Numerous feminist distortions of Jesus and his own understanding and treatment of women are discussed with care, while showing them to be far from the gospels' own portrayal, rightly understood. The role of hermeneutics is central in this discussion, and Jesus and the Feminists provides an excellent case-study on just why a correct hermeneutic matters. Even more to the point: getting Jesus right matters! Köstenberger should be commended for winsome and scholarly dismantling of feminist distortions of Jesus thus providing assistance toward this goal.”
Jesus' Blood and Righteousness
Theology
“Vickers's work is sure to be one of the most significant contributions to the ongoing discussion of the nature of the imputation of Christ's righteousness. For the sake of one's own soul, and for richer biblical and theological understanding, I recommend to Christians that they read with care this excellent work.”
Jesus' Speech on the Mount of Olives

Theology
“'No Quick Fix' is superb! Readers may not know Keswick theology by name, but many Christians in Britain and North America have been influenced by its teachings regardless. If you want to explore a truly biblical understanding of progressive sanctification while avoiding the pitfalls of some popular well-intended but misguided teachings, you'll benefit greatly from this book. I enthusiastically recommend Naselli's winsome, insightful, and instructive treatment and pray many will grow in their Christian lives as a result of giving careful attention to this book.”
Timeless Truth in the Hands of History
Theology
“Gale Heide's Timeless Truth in the Hands of History demonstrates that not only does theology's content develop and change over time, its very method and systematic form does as well. And, of course, these two developments are not unrelated. Heide shows that an understanding of how the 'system' of theology should be conceived illumines just how theology's own content is developed at various stages in the history of theology. For those concerned with how theology has been done and should be done, this book will provide great stimulation and direction.”
