Bible of the Oppressed

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Elsa Tamez's book attracts our attention, not only for wrestling with a major biblical theme but also for keeping us in continuous contact with the text of the Bible.”

Ezekiel

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Professor Hals tackles a very complicated text of the Bible. Much of the darkness and haze across the pages of Ezekiel clears away because of the author's long acquaintance with this prophecy and also because of his own clear thinking and uncomplicated style of writing. Students will be helped immensely in rereading the biblical text, whether in the Hebrew or in the RSV.”

The Psalms

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“The most complete, up-to-date, and reliable study of the Psalms in English. . . . an over-all presentation of important trends in understanding the Psalms today.”
