“Lisa Deam reminds us through the surprisingly modern words of medieval pilgrims that true pilgrimage is mapped first in the heart, and launches us on a journey that deconstructs our comfort, safety, and autonomy. Deam's accessible writing and deep knowledge of those who've journeyed before us make 3000 Miles to Jesus a welcome companion for all spiritual seekers who find themselves drawn to pilgrimage's narrow, beautiful road.”

“A Teachable Spirit is a profound and timely invitation to rediscover humility in a world saturated with arrogance and noise. A.J. Swoboda’s insights are both challenging and liberating, reminding us that authentic discipleship begins with a heart willing to learn from anyone, anywhere. I was personally irritated, convicted, poked, prodded, and pressed into greater curiosity—a sure sign of a deep and rich book. I know it’ll be helpful to you too.”

“And the Sea Was No More is a rare work of depth and honesty. Dave Nienhuis refuses trite answers to challenging biblical and existential questions, creating space for mystery, lament, and truth-telling. In doing so, he offers what we most need and what we know today to be the antidote to ongoing trauma and woundedness—a compassionate witness to our pain, and faithful companionship when we find ourselves in the deep.”
Theology
“Christ and Trauma is a landmark collection that dares to do theology in the ruins east of Eden, where violence lingers, and hope must be wrestled from the dust. These essays refuse triumphalism and instead bear faithful witness to the haunting wounds of trauma, illuminating how even here—especially here—God remains present. The result is a theologically rich, pastorally urgent volume that challenges, comforts, and compels.”

Women
“Heather's work emerges from solid research and significant experience but also from the wisdom of her wounds, which makes for a compellingly prophetic, humbling, yet hopeful must-read that men in particular must heed. This is a labor of love for the church that we'll all benefit from immensely.”

“Vermon's book is a lived theology, a call to become the beloved community offered by a pastor who won't minimize the cost of doing the hard work. What strikes me most is Vermon's hope, even amidst the wounds of ministry. This is a hopeful word from a wise and humble pastor.”

“This book is an important contribution in a time when there is growing evangelical interest in contemplative spirituality. For the skeptical, this work addresses many of the common concerns. For the curious, this is an excellent introduction to the major themes and unique voices of contemplative spirituality. For all, this is a deep dive into a broad and rich Christian tradition in which you'll discover hidden treasures you didn't know were available to you—right here in your very own theological home. I'm grateful to Strobel and Coe.”

“This is likely the most important study to date on clergy health and sustainability. Proeschold-Bell and Byassee offer expansive research and practical wisdom for weary ministers. I’m hopeful their work is helpful to current pastors and is also translated into better pathways of preparation and training for future pastors.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Alan Baker offers an accessible and helpful vision for chaplaincy that prioritizes presence and yet offers helpful insights and tools for navigating and thriving in one’s life as a chaplain. I see this book being widely used as a resource, not least for my seminary students discerning their call to chaplaincy.”
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“Dr. Alison’s latest book is perhaps her most down-to-earth and simple yet profoundly wise. Amid sometimes-complex therapeutic takes and terms and within the conflicts of our own lives, we need clear ways of naming what’s happening, framing our reality, and braving our way forward. This is everyday wisdom born out of a holy imagination and offered with clarity and conviction.”

“Land of My Sojourn is a beautifully told story of a life of grace, grief, and gratitude, an immensely personal, memoir-like narrative that seamlessly weaves together Mike Cosper's predictably wise musings on Scripture, culture, politics, power, trauma, the church, and more. It's a story so well told, truthfully told, and generously told that you'll likely find some of your own story in it too. What a gift!”

“I’ve been reading Kevin’s book during a time when it feels like we are coming apart at the seams in the United States, and perhaps globally as well. But as I read, I felt rooted and grounded, invited into a larger and more substantial reality than my shifting one. That’s the great gift of this book. As a long-time pastor and therapist, I would commend this as good therapy for those, like me, who sometimes feel tossed about the cultural waters.”

“How we manage anxiety matters, and Steve provides wisdom for every one of us navigating the invisible forces impacting our work and our health.”

“There’s wilderness in all of us,’ Sara writes. ‘We’re lost and found a little every day.’ And in her honest-but-hopeful reflections, Sara helped me feel just a bit more ‘found’ than I did before—orphaned but also anchored in a much better story than the one the world’s been selling me over the past decades. I needed this book more than I knew.”

“Jenai’s exquisitely personal book invites us to consider spiritual abuse and religious trauma through a wider lens—one that considers the experiences of those who’ve been historically marginalized. Her own wrestlings are woven beautifully into a narrative that draws from deep biblical wells but also navigates complex cultural currents, all in service of telling a better, Resurrection story—a story that names each of us as beloved.”
Theology
“Pastoral Confessions by Jamin Goggin is a deeply honest and profoundly insightful exploration of the challenges pastors face in their personal and vocational lives. Through the lens of the seven deadly sins, Goggin masterfully weaves Scripture, theology, and lived experience to illuminate the hidden struggles of ministry while offering the healing grace of confession as a path to renewal. This book is both a courageous invitation and a practical guide for pastors to embrace vulnerability, humility, and the transformative power of God’s love. It is an important read for anyone seeking a faithful and sustainable life in ministry.”
Psalms in Sickness and in Health
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“With deep wisdom, raw honesty, and theological insight, Andrew W. Litke invites us into the Psalms as a sacred refuge for those walking through the valleys of illness, grief, and suffering. Drawing from both personal experience and careful biblical scholarship, he illuminates how the psalms give voice to our deepest laments yet also offer profound hope. This book is a gift to anyone seeking solace in Scripture amid life’s hardest seasons. A must-read for caregivers, pastors, and all who long to encounter God in their pain.”

“Relational Spirituality is a significant contribution that brings together attachment psychology, neuroscience, theology, spirituality, and other disciplines in an emerging and dynamic conversation, all for the sake of a deeply relational vision of Christian spiritual formation. Frankly, this is a book I've been waiting and hoping for, one that will be well used by my students in years to come.”

“Where will you find a ‘Theology of the Victim’ from a Reformed theologian? You just found it. If you’ve been the victim of abuse, you won’t find yourself blamed in this book. You’ll find yourself embraced by the love of a God who meets you in your pain. This will be required reading for all of my students.”
