Cuthbert Butler (1858–1934) was a monk and later abbot of the Benedictine Downside Abbey, where Butler was also educated. Butler wrote Benedictine Monachism, Second Edition, Lausiac History of Palladius, and Western Mysticism; Second Edition with Afterthoughts.
