Hardwick has supplied and preached in the Diocese of Lexington in Kentucky and served as chaplain and Associate Director of Pastoral Care at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Northern Kentucky, and was also a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner. Hardwick earned a Master of Divinity and wrote Oh Thou Woman That Bringest Good Tidings (2002).
