Daniel Klawitter has served as a professed religious brother in the Order of Saint Luke. Klawitter previously worked as a community organizer and labor union activist, was lead singer and lyricist for the band Mining for Rain, reviewed poetry books for NewPages.com, and served as poetry editor of Doxology. Klawitter studied at the Iliff School of Theology and wrote the poetry collection Where Sunday Used to Be (2022).
