Theology
“Chun Tse eloquently and persuasively shows that Christian assurance is grounded in our blood-bought adoption as children of God. Replete with skillful handling of biblical texts, Assurance of Adoption is cogently argued, historically informed, pastorally encouraging, compelling, and logical. Anyone seeking assurance of salvation in Christ in the Reformed tradition will find ample help in these pages.”
Theology
“Here is where ecclesiology and eschatology meet. Although end-times teaching is woven into the fabric of God's Word, what this teaching says about the church is seldom considered by pastors. A careful look at Scripture shows that the church is a profoundly eschatological community. Gladd and Harmon offer skillful guidance on how a biblical understanding of the end times is crucial to the church's ministry and to its very identity for today. By looking at the entirety of the biblical witness, they demonstrate that God's eschatological design for the church is both a future hope and a present reality.”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“has given rise to interminable speculations regarding sources, the fruitful task of comparative analysis is a rarity in scholarly discourse. Now, in Reading Mark in Context the novice reader is presented with the fruit of a comparative inquiry at its finest. The Jewish writings function like a light upon the narrative, making visible to the attentive reader the profundity of the Markan account of Jesus of Nazareth and illustrating the riches therein with contextual clarity. This is a unique and valuable collection that balances competent usage of the Jewish texts with judicious insights into the Gospel of Mark.”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“The Story Retold inaugurates an innovation in New Testament introductions where students are introduced to the books of the New Testament in the context of the Old. Beale and Gladd keep each book of the New Testament firmly tethered to the Old Testament narrative, which its authors presume. This new textbook is readable, reliable, and underscores the redemptive-historical threads of the whole Bible, with Christ as the focus.”
