Incarnate

Church Leadership & Ministry

“We are all facing it--the rootless, disembodied, cyber-based existence of today's modern world. We are struggling to live amidst flat landscapes that separate mind from body from soul. In Incarnate Michael Frost shows us how this world defies the incarnation. He unfolds the glories of returning to the body as the place where God has come in Christ to restore our lives. His writing couldn't be more inspired. His book couldn't be more timely.”

Inspired Imperfection

Apologetics

“In Inspired Imperfection, Gregory A. Boyd recovers the belief in the plenary inspiration of Scripture for our time. After reading this book, all of us are more grounded in the Bible as God’s inspired words and even more in awe of this God who has revealed Godself in the crucified Jesus Christ.”

Joining God in the Great Unraveling

Church Leadership & Ministry

“After twenty years or more of the missional conversation, Al Roxburgh takes us on a much-needed reflective break, leading us through the questions all over again. In Joining God in the Great Unraveling, he leads us past our church-based anxiety to what we have been missing: a fresh encounter with the living God at work in our world. A wonderful, mesmerizing piece by a towering missiologist scholar that is sure to help every pastor lead in this cultural moment.”

Joining Jesus

Evangelism & Missions

“With eagerness, I invite you to read Joining Jesus. Come, turn its pages and explore the God who lives and breathes in the worlds beyond church buildings. Travel across North America with Moses and Christopher as they tell you story after story of Luke 10 people meeting Jesus in their neighborhoods. Your imagination for God will surely grow. And the way you live the Christian life will be lastingly changed.”

Kingdom First

Christian Living

“In Kingdom First, a wise sage offers up priceless lessons on being Christians in these post-Christendom times. Drawing on years of ministry experience, with stories across several different cultures, Bob Roxburgh reminds us of some simple practices of being Christ’s church in the culture. After years of fatigue, grasping for the straws of church success, Kingdom First comes to us as a gift. Read it slowly and allow yourself the time to be renewed in a vision for the church for these disruptive times.”

Leadership, God’s Agency, and Disruptions

Church Leadership & Ministry

“Leadership, God’s Agency, and Disruptions is a wonderfully brilliant book by two world class thinkers on leadership. Read it and allow the leadership you have known to be unraveled. Know that, by the time you’re finished reading, you’ll be re-constructed as a Christian leader. Instead of techniques, you’ll be given a new way of being that is found in the very center of God’s agency, not your own.”

Light as Air

Christian Living

“We are tired. We are angry. We are frustrated and unhappy. We are Christians living in an unseemly time. And Jonny Morrison’s book arrives to give us something for this moment. Wonderfully winsome, deeply theological, culturally brilliant, Light as Air is a powerful invitation to become part of the new hope-filled world being born in Christ. It’s a tour de force guaranteed to be worth your time.”

Live in the Light

Bible Studies & Devotionals

“Tara Beth Leach's Live in the Light is the work of a master teacher. A deeply reflective, emotionally engaging, scholarly but accessible guide into the depths of the epistles of John. Join with your friends and take this six-week journey. Grow into the light of the one who reigns over the whole world.”

Minding the Web

Theology

“Minding the Web is an extraordinary collection that reveals the complexity, beauty and timeliness of Hauerwas. It invites us to once again drink deeply from the well that is Hauerwas. As you read, prepare yourself to be unsettled only to have your imagination gripped by the world as it is under Jesus as Lord.”

Practicing the Monastic Disciplines

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“I recommend Practicing the Monastic Disciplines for all of us ‘looking for ways to rest in the gracious provision of the Lord.’ Carefully, with much patience, Hamstra and Cocar lead us through desert spirituality and all it has to offer for such a time as ours. In the process, we learn how to follow Jesus all over again, from within and from without.”

Quivering Families

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Read Quivering Families and go deep into a subculture that has made ‘family’ the center of all life. In the process explore how this strange movement reflects back on ourselves: North Americans who have made ‘family’ into our own idol. Brilliantly conceived, intensely interesting, scholarly executed, Dr. McGowin’s book is well worth your time.”

Redeeming Sex

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“With lived experience, direct frankness and a pastoral heart, Deb Hirsch addresses the church on sexuality. In so doing, Redeeming Sex prepares the way for the places the church must go to be 'among' today's confused and strife-ridden world of sexuality. It is a vulnerable gift that moves us beyond faulty stereotypes and pre-set notions. I cannot think of a better book to start the conversation.”

Resilient and Redeemed

Christian Living

““Open this book and journey with Chris Morris in the struggle to make sense of mental illness within the Christian life. Read the stories, reflect on Scripture, and find hope. In these pages, Chris helps us see God as present in the struggle. Resilient and Redeemed is a gift to all of us who struggle with mental illness or walk with someone who does.”

Salt, Light, and a City, Second Edition

Theology

“Like never before, the missional movement in the West needs a bigger, broader, and more inclusive dialogue. Missional churches everywhere need better theology lest they will devolve into mere pragmatics. This is the promise of Graham Hill's project Salt, Light, and a City: a bigger, broader, more inclusive and better missional theology for world Christianity as we come together to be churches in God's Mission in the days to come.”

Salvation Means Creation Healed

Theology

“Salvation Means Creation Healed crafts a stunning vision of the breadth of God's Reign in Jesus Christ over all things in both heaven and earth and then invites the church to participate fully. It is compelling. It is challenging. It demands a response.”

Seven Deadly Spirits

Church Leadership & Ministry

“With compelling clarity and incisive scholarship, Daniels unfurls the meaning of these letters for the missional church today. Under Daniels's scholarly guidance, the letters to the churches in Revelation become a prime scriptural resource for conforming the church more faithfully to the mission of God.”

Shaping the Journey of Emerging Adults

Discipleship & Christian Education

“It is a fact that today's emerging twentysomethings face challenges never imagined by their parents. Discipling them has never been more urgent. For these reasons, Shaping the Journey of Emerging Adults is a timely book. Jana and Rick offer a way beyond fads into the depths of life in Christ for young adults. If we the church would face the future, we must read this book.”

Shrink

Church Leadership & Ministry

“From the heart of a pastor, the mind of a theologian, and the soul of a prophet comes a word to Christians in North America: shrink. Be freed from ambition. Find God’s reign again in the daily faithfulness of living together in his kingdom. Few people could deliver this message with the same depth and piercing insight Tim Suttle has shown. In Shrink, he helps us face what we’ve been hiding from. He plows the scorched soil of the American church so we can take roots again and live.”

Singing into Splintered Spaces

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“Singing into Splintered Spaces is perhaps the finest collection of writing on mission as spiritual discipline I have read. A thoroughly engaging compilation of articles that combine scholarly rigor with practical reflection. Well worth your time. Well worth your investment.”
