David Emerton earned a PhD at the University of Aberdeen, where Emerton previously served as a teaching fellow in systematic and historical theology. Emerton also previously served as principal of the School of Discipleship in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, and has served as director of St. Mellitus College in the East Midlands, United Kingdom. Emerton wrote Types of Ecclesiology (2024).
