Preaching & Worship
“I have only actually heard one sermon by J. Harold Ellens, but reading this wonderful collection reminds me why he has long been one of my favorite homilists. More like a conversation than a monologue, these sermons immediately pull me into dialogue within myself and with God. Read them and be challenged, stimulated, provoked, informed, and edified. Receive them as medicine for your spirit and soul. Be prepared to be blessed by the Spirit that inspired them.”
Discovering Our Spiritual Identity
Prayer & Spiritual Formation
“To those who have already discovered him, Trevor Hudson is a much loved and trusted spiritual guide who is known for his practical books on the Christian spiritual journey. Organized around sixteen signposts toward a renewed spirituality that is centered in Jesus, Discovering Our Spiritual Identity presents a series of what he calls 'holy experiments'—time-tested practices that hold the potential of transforming hearts and minds, attention and awareness, willing and doing. Don't just read this book; take the time to live it, to make space in your life for these experiments to gain a foothold. It will leave you forever changed.”
Prayer & Spiritual Formation
“The astounding book you hold in your hands has the potential to change you in unimaginably deep ways. Read it slowly, paying as much attention to the things that arise within you as you do to the words on the page. Received with hospitality, these arisings will lead you forward as you make your own pilgrimage of the soul. I can think of no better companion on that journey than Phileena Heuertz.”
Practicing the Presence of Jesus
Prayer & Spiritual Formation
“Don't think of this as a book to read. Think instead of it as a wonderful conversation over coffee--or perhaps while on a long walk--with a warm and very wise Christian woman whose faith is grounded in her own ongoing dialogue with the living God. This isn't a book of ideas. It is much more personal than that. It is a book in which the author invites the reader to accompany her in engaging with scriptures--not as a text to be studied but as the living word of the Creator that must, therefore, be engaged with the senses and imagination, not just reason and analysis. Read it slowly and prepare for your life to be changed.”
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“This is not just a book for those who work with others in formal relationships of ministry, therapy, counseling, or spiritual direction-although those in this group will find it offers a particularly fresh and creative way of listening and engaging with those they seek to help. Beyond this, however, it is for all who seek themselves to better understand the way of Jesus and the implications of this for their encounters with others. Read it and be prepared to see through new eyes, hear through new ears, and respond from a new heart. It is, indeed, a book full of transformational possibilities!”
Christian Living
“This new book by Beth Booram is a wonderful gift to all of us who dare to dream but are unsure what to do with those dreams. . . . Immensely practical, it will walk you through the process of nurturing dreams within a climate of spiritual discernment. Hold this book in one hand and your dream in the other and watch as the Spirit leads you forward!”
Prayer & Spiritual Formation
“Carrying the journey beyond that introduced in his earlier much-appreciated Invitation to a Journey, this new book by Robert Mulholland will be very helpful to all those who feel called to a deeper journey and who wonder how concepts such as the true and false self relate to biblical teaching. If this is you, read on and be prepared to meet God and yourself more deeply.”
