Bridging Theory and Practice in Children's Spirituality
Children & Youth
“Hats off to Keeley and Larson for compiling this welcome addition to the field of children’s spirituality. For over fifteen years, the Children’s Spirituality Summit has been gathering the best researchers and brightest practitioners, and this book is the fruit of their latest efforts. Exploding Stars, Dead Dinosaurs, and Zombies
Science & Faith
“This a love story. A double love story, to be exact. It’s the story of science and faith, two lovers who had a falling out that resulted in a bitter rivalry for the last few centuries. And it’s the tale of a youth pastor who loves God and his teens too much to give up on them. Like a good relationship counselor, Andy Root calls into memory the shared story of science and faith, showing us that they have more in common than we first suspected.”
Children & Youth
“Forming Resilient Children is a much-needed addition to the field of children's spirituality. Especially now, as we continue to face the ongoing effects of a once-a-century pandemic, children need adults who can help them recover from trauma, process grief, and nurture hope. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, pastor, teacher, or children's ministry volunteer, Holly Allen's superb research will help you understand connections between spirituality and resilience. What is more, she offers strategies and resources that you can use to foster resilience among the children that God has placed in your life.”
Christian Living
“This book is needed now more than ever. In a world dominated by divisive political rhetoric, rampant greed, and uncertainty about the future, we need voices like Douglass and Tausen to take us back to the heart of the gospel. Whatever your politics, no matter your theological tradition, whether you’re new to Christianity or you don’t remember a time in your life when Jesus didn’t matter, this book is for you. The authors will provoke, challenge, encourage, and affirm you as they stretch your imagination toward greater love for all people, even—no, wait, especially—those who are most difficult to love.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Beginning at an ordinary parish with an extraordinary idea, the ripples of Messy Church have been felt across the globe. In this highly anticipated book, Lucy Moore and Jane Leadbetter tell the story of this creative approach to all-ages worship and community and offer a vast array of ideas for how to use it in your congregation. One read through and you'll be itching to start making church messy!”
