Surviving Persecution

Evangelism & Missions

“Since the second century when the Latin theologian wrote that ‘the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church,’ many observers of the Christian faith have assumed that persecution has served to stimulate the growth of Christianity. In his careful study of persecution and his own experiences as a long-term missionary among the Mayans in Chiapas, Mexico, Vern Sterk concludes that persecution can actually kill the church when Christians are ill-informed and ill-prepared. This book is an important read.”
