To Clear a Static Field

Arts & Literature

“Holliday’s To Clear a Static Field inhabits a new language. Or perhaps it revivifies an ancient use of language we have mostly forgotten. Her words cut through symbolic space with the force of lightning. Part hymn, part testimony, it is a voice erupting from overwhelming loss infused with a deep clarity. This astounding book is many things: a memorial, an indictment, a prayer, and a tune to hum to oneself in the unruly garden.”
