Better for Life

Christian Living

“Better for Life is a book for our times . . . In relating his own story of hardship, Jones empathizes with those who have been shipwrecked by the storms of foreclosure, job loss, stress, depression, and a crisis of faith. Yet that is not where the story ends. Jones relates how he found hope in God, who turned his weeping into joy. I recommend this book as a perfect devotional guide for those who are navigating a storm and want to emerge better for life on the other side.”

Introspection

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Cory May’s Introspection delivers a conservative Black evangelical critique of dominant schools of hyper-liberal ideology and theology rooted in Black Nationalism and Black Power. Dr. May can be credited with restoring the legacy of Black evangelicalism, overlooked after departure of the moderating influence of M. L. King, and positioning that legacy as a corrective to the current alienation of Black theology from the conservative evangelical African American church and academy.”

J. Roswell Flower

History & Biography

“David Ringer's biography of J. Roswell Flower is a remarkable achievement. Ringer brings to life this luminary of the formative phase of the Assemblies of God through a sympathetic exposition of Flower's writings and accomplishments as an educator, ecumenist, denominational leader, and minister of the Word.”

Ken Sumrall and Church Foundational Network

Church Leadership & Ministry

“Terry Shiver has produced an original case study of Ken Sumrall and his Church Foundational Network, an association of charismatic churches. Shiver's research provides a window through which to observe and understand the theological and sociological dynamics that govern not only Sumrall's network but also a good number of similar associations of nondenominational churches in which power resides in the personal influence and unilateral decision-making prerogatives of an apostolic leader.”
