In the Shadow of Alden Light

Fiction

“Celeste Flores deftly juxtaposes the otherworldly and the ordinary, reminding us of the tenuous lines between past and present. Busy navigating the everyday challenges of life, our protagonists are not only haunted by their own histories but soon become intertwined in an unsettling series of events, suggesting how haunted histories may surround us all. Offering lush descriptions of the brutally beautiful New England landscape, Flores’s book presents a modern-day ghost story that I couldn’t put down.”
