F. J. Foakes Jackson (1855–1941) served as fellow, lecturer, and dean of Jesus College, Cambridge, and later as Briggs professor of Christian institutions at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Foakes Jackson wrote Josephus and the Jews and Anglican Church Principles, and edited The Beginnings of Christianity: The Acts of the Apostles.
