“Kanaan’s second offering, Slate, speaks to those deeper places we humans often seek to avoid where our lived experience leaves us raw and ragged—and then flip sided—we burst with light, love, and care for the world and ourself. Never one to step back from the flame, Kanaan invites you in and insists that you not shrink away. Her journey affirms the human condition and invites us each to see ourself in her offering.”
