It especially advances the hermeneutics of Old Testament quotation in the New, a field full of variations and debate. Hoff’s contention is that Paul used a literal hermeneutic in his reference to Abraham’s justification in Gen 15:6. Those who disagree with this approach would do well to consider Hoff’s arguments.
