David Remembered

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“A wide-ranging exploration of the afterlife of David and the Davidic dynasty in both history and Scripture. Blenkinsopp's work is, as usual, careful and yet bubbling with new ideas and proposals. An intriguing investigation.”

Ecclesiastes

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Ecclesiastes is certainly one of the most fascinating — and challenging — books of the Bible. Peter Enns has taken it on with equal measures of informed scholarship and religious sensitivity. His commentary, while surveying most of the thorny issues that have puzzled previous commentators, never loses sight of the big picture and the questions that matter most in a person's life. The result is an extraordinary achievement — a worthy addition to the home libraries of scholars and laymen alike.”

Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, vol. 1

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“A monumental work, vital to the study of early Judaism and Christianity in general, and to the history of ancient biblical interpretation in particular. Anyone who owns one of the earlier compilations of Old Testament pseudepigrapha will have to supplement it with this volume, which fills in much of what’s missing in the others. This is a scholarly achievement for the generations.”

Understanding Exodus, Second Edition

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“The second edition of Understanding Exodus is a welcome event for both scholars and ordinary readers. Here are the usual Greenberg hallmarks: his combination of a wide-ranging command of contemporary biblical scholarship with a deep respect for the traditional text and traditional interpretations; his religious sensibility and commitment to exploring the ethical implications of the Exodus narrative; above all, his intellectual honesty.”
