Theology
“These essays offer unflinching honesty, surprising humor, keen insight, and possible ways forward as they wrestle with the hard questions about why Christians are and remain divided over what should unite us: the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper. This book richly rewards thoughtful reading.”
Theology
“Donald Fairbairn offers an engaging introduction to evangelical theology, as enriched and challenged by key patristic emphases. Given the recent expansion of interest in the church fathers in evangelical circles, this winsomely written, stimulating invitation to listen to and learn from the church fathers is both timely and welcome.”
Church Leadership & Ministry
“Armstrong lays out his passion for ecumenism and rehearses much of his personal journey from a rigid, doctrinaire stance to an open appreciation of and readiness to work with (and learn from) Christians of all sorts of backgrounds. He invites readers to embrace what he has styled 'missional ecumenism,' an approach to seeking the unity of Christ's followers that is deeply relational and welcoming. This book offers renewed hope for the ecumenical future.”
The Transforming Fire of Divine Love
Christian Living
“In this book, John Armstrong invites the reader on a journey to discover the wonder of embracing in humble faith that ‘God is love.’ He helps his audience discern unwarranted limitations of that bold but comforting truth as they have developed in Christian history, opening up about his own development of a greater appreciation for the wisdom of the broader Christian tradition—Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. There is much to learn and appreciate here.”
