Christian Contemplation

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“Father Nguyen explores the many forms contemplation has taken, beginning with the ancient hermits and ascetics known as the Fathers of the Desert. . . . Father Nguyen, trained in the spirituality of Ignatius, above all treats of contemplation in the Exercises, a way of focusing our prayer on God’s action in our lives and of participating step by step in the life of Jesus Christ.”

Digging for God

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“The reader of poetry looks for writing that is clear and vivid, and looks forward, above all, to pages where the muse, and the music, palpably take over. Anne Higgins, Daughter of Charity, does not disappoint. She is a keen observer of the outside world--garden, woodland, and bird life. She attends, as well, to 'interior geography,' she is right to say, 'Poetry slips in between the covers of facts.' There is welcome humor, and there are memorable people, such as father at ninety-two and the old sisters at Mass. So a treat lies in store for readers of Digging for God.”
