Work, Money & Leadership
“Not since Parker Palmer's Let Your Life Speak have I read such a helpful and compelling guide for discerning life's callings. Part practical, part personal, part pastoral, and entirely profound, 4D Formation accompanies readers in their journey through discovery, discernment, development, and decision-making. I especially appreciate Drew Tucker's full inclusion of multiple religious and secular voices, even as he plumbs the depths of his own Christian worldview. This book will help you live life well, and the world will flourish as a result.”
Philosophy
“To 'emergent' Christians experimenting with faith apart from the benefits of established Christianity, Roberts introduces Kierkegaard as an invaluable resource. To those of us who have wrestled with Kierkegaard, Roberts introduces a growing group of creative, faithful Christians who wrestle with radical discipleship. Whether they are scholars, students, or seekers, this book is for all who wonder and worry about the shape of Christian faith and church today.”
History & Biography
“With so much shifting underfoot, congregations often cling to life as they once knew it. Sara Olson-Smith offers a more Jesus-shaped way in this tender memoir. This is a beautiful story of everyday, faithful people who once met in a brick building in New Jersey. Weaving together stories from scripture and from kitchen tables, Olson-Smith finally weaves us all into a grieving, trusting, and hopeful people called Church.”
Philosophy
“One-hundred and seventy years ago, Søren Kierkegaard gifted Denmark’s Christendom with Sickness unto Death, a penetrating analysis of the passions and pitfalls of living before God. Today, Paul Sponheim gifts both newcomers and experienced scholars with an equally incisive analysis of Kierkegaard’s book and the living legacy of his penetrating theology. Together, Kierkegaard and Sponheim beckon us toward the passionate venture that is human existence. Existing Before God is an incredibly helpful, wise, and hope-filled book.”
Hemingway and Ho Chi Minh in Paris
“David Crowe--part literary biographer, part cultural critic, wholly engaged with the deepest questions of human meaning and hope--draws readers in with this compelling account of Hemingway and Ho Chi Minh. This book is a lesson in the art of becoming fully human.”
