“Bread for the Journey is a doxology sung in theological, pastoral, and ecclesiological language. Currie gives glimpses of Barth and Bonhoeffer, contemporary theologians and medieval poetry, Bible stories and living saints, all lifted up to help shape God's covenant people for service. This is indeed a nourishing book; each short reflection worthy of careful reading, and the whole a powerful testimony to Jesus Christ.”

“Brueggemann clearly and concisely points readers to core biblical and theological truths that elicit revelatory moments that stick. The pivots in Exodus Brueggemann explores invite readers to see and seek where the Spirit is moving in their own lives and contexts. The questions at the end of each chapter offer a ready tool for rich discussion that will certainly uncover fresh truths from ancient texts. Once again, Brueggemann helps people of faith experience God’s living Word through his depth of knowledge, poetic language, and evident love of Scripture and Christ’s Church.”

“Whether in a sermon, poem, or prayer, Shepherd's rich imagery is arresting. Like the Advent season itself, Shepherd's words wake us up, slow us down, and invite us to anticipate with joy the coming of Emmanuel.”

“Donald McKim’s writing is always biblical, theological, and accessible. In Following in the Way of Jesus, McKim adds personal and devotional to that list of adjectives. Reading this book is like having a deep, meaningful conversation with a trusted and wise friend. McKim’s grace, faith, and generosity imbues each page leaving the reader blessed and eager to be a blessing.”

“In a culture that far too often proffers either platitudes and positivity or disdain and despair, MaryAnn McKibben Dana’s latest book, Hope: A User’s Manual, honors complicated questions while offering practical pathways to hope. She draws on a wide range of resources and, in the end, enables the reader to imagine, and even craft, a more hopeful story for themselves and for our world.”

“Our faith is indeed a journey, and Cynthia Campbell and Christine Fohr are able guides as we make our Lenten pilgrimage with Jesus. They offer historical context, biblical scholarship, and contemporary wisdom in Meeting Jesus on the Road . Each thoughtful and thought-provoking chapter includes questions to ponder either individually or with a group, and the walking prompt that concludes each chapter offers a unique opportunity to get up and encounter Jesus in our own time and place. Campbell’s and Fohr’s combined insights and gifts create a rich and literally moving devotional.”

“Compelling, well-written, and timely, Resurrecting Church: Where Justice and Diversity Meet Radical Welcome and Healing Hope is performative in that it does what it describes, making a rich and diverse case for intersectional churches. Cleghorn's book is a combination of memoir, history, sociology, theology, and biblical exegesis, revealing the beautiful, messy, complex, liberation God works through communities of faith brave enough to do the work and maintain the relationships of an authentic, multi-axis life together. Cleghorn's book provides thought provoking and practical insight into how we might be shaped by the Holy Spirit into God's kin-dom.”

“The structure of one psalm for each week invites a focused, slower pace that will allow readers to relish the liturgical seasons of Advent and Christmas. Caldwell provides a thoughtful antidote to the prevailing cultural pace that often overtakes us during the holidays, inviting us instead to notice, attend, and connect to God’s presence in our midst.”

“Words of Love demonstrates Gamble’s myriad gifts as preacher, teacher and writer. Gamble’s generous reading of this foundational Scripture evokes a sense of wonder, rather than fear, creativity instead of restriction. The spiritual practices and questions at the end of each chapter make it a perfect book for both individual and group study.”
