Jim Purves earned a PhD in Systematic Theology at Aberdeen University. Purves has served as pastor of Bristo Baptist Church in Edinburgh and on the national leadership team of the Baptist Union of Scotland. Purves wrote The Triune God and the Charismatic Movement (2007).
