John F. Evans earned a DTh at Stellenbosch University. Evans has taught Old Testament and Hebrew at Union School of Theology in the UK, and previously served as a pastor, a missionary, and Head of the Biblical Studies Department at Africa International University. Evans wrote A Guide to Biblical Commentaries and Reference Works (2016) and its 11th edition (2025).
