Bioethics for Nurses

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Christianity—rightly understood—has been a tremendous inspiration and guiding star for so many in nursing. Bioethics for Nurses adeptly explains this past en route to laying out a Christian moral vision powerful enough to renew and sustain nursing far into the future.”

Called to Care

Work, Money & Leadership

“While the core Christian message has not changed since the first edition, the world within and beyond health care certainly has—and with it, the concrete implications of a Christian worldview. Even those familiar with the original edition will want to read the latest work of these champions of caring with heart and mind.”

Choosing the Good

World Religions

“Much that is written in Christian ethics today focuses on only specific contemporary issues or is limited to a Christian perspective far removed from the world in which we live. In delightful contrast, Dennis Hollinger's work, while rich in application, is richer still in ethical theory, cultural critique, and historical, theological, and empirical analysis. These tools will equip the reader to tackle far more than the particular issues of today. Hollinger also accomplishes the difficult feat of staying closely in touch with today's pluralistic culture while remaining genuinely biblical and theological in outlook. When I read Hollinger's work, every time I finished a chapter I found myself more eager for another one. That's a good sign.”

Ethics for a Brave New World, Second Edition

Christian Living

“Since the first edition, changes in the world have only made this book’s title more apt. Again and again, science fiction has become science fact; and with masterful theological discernment, John Feinberg helps us to make sense of what is happening. He does a tremendous service by gathering and interpreting an ocean of literature on key issues of our day. Readers will come away informed about the issues, conversant with the multi-faceted debates that swirl around these vital challenges, and equipped and inspired to engage them in a way that glorifies God.”

Finding Grace in the Face of Dementia

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“Finding this book is like discovering a wonderful treasure. John Dunlop has mined decades of experience as geriatrician, son of a mother with dementia, bioethics expert, and active church member to help the rest of us make sense of a condition that seems to rob people of every shred of dignity. Drawing on the glorious biblical truth of every person’s creation in the image of God, Dunlop shows that dignity cannot be lost even in the face of dementia. People entering or anticipating the experience of dementia, as well as their family, friends, and caregivers—in other words, nearly everyone—will find in this book the grace they need to cope with its challenges.”

Finishing Well to the Glory of God

Christian Living

“Who would not want love, hope, and joy at the end of life? But how does one gain them? What Christian would not welcome letting go, growing through adversity, and resting in Jesus? But how does one experience them? Dr. John Dunlop provides extremely practical and well-tested answers to these and other equally vital questions. Anyone facing death or expecting to do so someday will be wonderfully blessed by this book.”

Retiring Well

Christian Living

“So many people stumble their way through retirement. They run out of time to put to use most of what they learn through trial and error. What a gift to have much of that experience gathered here in this wonderfully practical book by John Dunlop. Anyone retired or expecting to retire someday will be greatly blessed by reading it.”

The Sacredness of Human Life

Ethics, Culture & Social Issues

“In the face of today's heated debates over ethical issues, Gushee does a fine job of laying out so-called progressive, conservative, and other Christian perspectives. This book is a valuable resource for all those who want to understand and thoughtfully engage perspectives other than their own.”

Wellness for the Glory of God

Christian Living

“Dr. Dunlop speaks from a wealth of personal experience as a beloved physician to countless older people, watching them live and die well—and poorly. A lifelong and careful study of the Bible has given him an invaluable perspective on how to ‘run with endurance the race that is set before us.’ We long to keep up, and even to excel, but how? If you want a wealth of biblically sound and immensely practical strategies for staying well, you’ve come to the right place. This book is a treasure!”
