Climate of the Soul

“Settling turbulence inside ourselves stimulates our settling turbulence outside, as we respond to climate change. Mayes engages with Scripture and Christian spirituality through the ages to illuminate that link between the world’s transition and our own toward what we were made to be. I found this book invaluable on a self-conducted retreat. The suggested exercises enable detachment from anxiety and refuel zeal for building a better world.”

Prayer & Spiritual Formation

“Mayes’s knowledge of the Bible, of spiritual writings down the ages, and of the Holy Land, together with keen pastoral insight into the impact of the pandemic, combine to offer us a key resource for our times. We’re invited to enter afresh the vulnerability revealed in Christ and to press on with the eternal perspective of his resurrection.”
