Aquinas, Science, and Human Uniqueness
Science & Faith
“Dr. Vanden Berg provides an uncommon integration of theological acumen, careful exegesis, informed science, and pastoral engagement. The result is a cogent and existentially satisfying presentation of what it means to be human.”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“This volume appropriately honors Prof. Walton with quality essays that do justice to the breadth of his interests over many years of academic ministry. Essay topics engage ancient Near Eastern cognitive environment, archaeology, Hebrew grammar, hermeneutics, and biblical theology—a smorgasboard that offers something appetizing for everyone.”
How God Forms Abraham to Be a Blessing
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Most enlightening is Qiang Fu’s unfolding of the central theme of Genesis 12–22, God’s command to Abraham to be (with imperative force) a blessing. Through the interplay and flow of pericopae, he shows how the narrative reveals God’s interaction with Abraham, forming him into the agent of blessing he is commanded to be. The pastoral applications to spiritual formation are significant.”

“Abraham Kuruvilla has produced another helpful commentary to guide faithful preaching of God’s word. Although best known as a leading scholar in homiletics, he proves himself to be a competent Hebrew exegete as well. His Christiconic hermeneutic allows the Psalms to fully speak their multidimensional message for spiritual formation today.”
Reading the Wife/Sister Narratives in Genesis
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Kang provides a clear and satisfying integration of type-scene analysis with the development of characterization, plot, and theme, in order to place the three episodes of the endangered matriarch within the narrative arch of Genesis 12–26. As a bonus, the reader enjoys a concise introduction with balanced assessment of the macrostructure of Genesis as a whole!”
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Hess's highly regarded philological expertise is evident in the copious technical notes accompanying his translation, as well as in his clear discussion of many important lexical and grammatical issues in the main commentary. Readers will appreciate his aptitude for explaining features of Hebrew poetics and literary art in 'plain English.' Contemporary application abounds throughout his interpretation and in the sections designated 'Theological Implications.'. . . I can only affirm my appreciation for this balanced, practical, and sensitive contribution to scholarship and the Church. Hess's commentary will be my 'first stop' when seeking either detailed exegetical discussion or homiletical help for study and application of the 'Best of Songs.'”
Science & Faith
“This book is not going to help you decide whether evolution is true. It does something far better! Jesus calls us to a cruciform life, and with vulnerability vulnerability and candor, Wood and Falk model for us how to be Christlike in the face of serious differences that really matter. While contemporary society knows only polarity and conflict, this book points to a countercultural way of being together in Christ.”

Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“For several decades, the work of Oswalt on Isaiah has commanded the respect of evangelical and mainstream scholars alike. This volume augments Oswalt's classic commentary with collected essays that offer mature reflection on some of the most crucial themes confronting any student of Isaiah. The reader will discover the careful balance of critical thought and spiritual sensitivity so characteristic of Oswalt's work. I'm grateful to Wipf and Stock for making these essays so readily accessible.”
The Lost World of the Prophets
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“In this latest addition to the Lost World Series, John H. Walton shares many important and helpful propositions. As followers of this series would expect, he opens up the ancient world of the Bible in ways that challenge popular assumptions about how to read the Prophets, and he also channels many currents of contemporary scholarship in a confessional framework. In the end he redirects the reader's imagination to more carefully considered applications of the prophetic message for our lives today.”
The Old Testament Law for the Life of the Church
Biblical Studies & Commentaries
“Undergirding this book is a lifetime of study by an internationally recognized specialist in Old Testament law as well as a published voice in the field of Christian spiritual formation. Clearly written and accessible to a wide audience, this balanced presentation is replete with helpful insights and will be my first recommended reading on the subject.”
