Jesus, the Prophets, and the End of the World

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“This is an ambitious, but careful, prophetic analysis of the whole biblical narrative. Readers will find here a convincing interpretation of the Old Testament prophets and the fulfillment of their words in the new covenant and in the eschatological future. Bucknell provides his readers with a devastating critique of the popular 'rapture' theory found in the Left Behind novels. Highly recommended reading for the educated lay person, pastor, and undergraduate Bible school student.”

Spirit, Freedom and Power

Theology

“This is a stimulating exploration of the state of Pentecostalism in Australia today, focusing especially on Pentecostal spirituality and grounded in [Cettolin's] research on the Assemblies of God (now ACC) in particular. This book challenges simplistic criticisms of contemporary Australian Pentecostalism, but carefully analyzes the trends and puts forward a cry for western Pentecostalism not to lose its focus on the experience of the Spirit. Thoughtful pastors, leaders, and laypeople will greatly benefit from this book.”
