Anxiety, Depression, and Jesus
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“Aaron Hoover has written an engaging, hopeful book for anyone living with depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts – especially for Christ-followers who might carry the unnecessary weight of guilt and shame. His honest, vulnerable account of his story as a pastor with mental health challenges dispels the false narrative that pastors don’t feel ‘that way.’ The truth is – many of us do. Aaron shares the practical help he has found along the way, as well as the confident hope that even in our suffering, God is still good and can be trusted.”
Between Heaven and the Real World
History & Biography
“We loved Steven Curtis Chapman’s deeply personal book, Between Heaven and the Real World! Each story he tells and each life circumstance he shares is an illustration of the ‘glorious unfolding’ of God’s plan for him, Mary Beth, and their incredible children. We’ve been fans from almost the beginning, as Steven’s songs have mirrored each stage in our own family and ministry, including grieving the loss of a dearly beloved child. When I list the most helpful things that have helped us grieve our son, Beauty Will Rise is always in the top three. Thank you, Steven, for allowing so many of us to grow closer to Jesus through the stories your music tells.”
Pastor.
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“I wholeheartedly recommend Grace for the Afflicted for any pastor or church leader who is looking for a reliable resource on understanding mental illness and treatment from a biblical perspective. Dr. Matthew Stanford's extensive background as a neurobiologist is shaped by his vibrant and personal faith in God as our wounded healer who has compassion on his children who suffer.”
Counseling, Grief & Mental Health
“This is a book every parent and pastor needs to read! Dr. Matthew Stanford defines mental illness in children and adolescents, and explains its causes, effects, and possible treatments in easy-to-understand language. The format is not only clear and concise but full of deep compassion for the children who suffer and for those who love them.”

“Grieving a Suicide is one of the most helpful books I read after our son, Matthew, died by suicide. I scribbled notes and comments to myself on nearly every page of this revised and expanded edition, and I found Al Hsu's compassionate and practical words even more beneficial than before. He has walked this painful path and knows firsthand how to give hope and comfort to grieving people. Grieving a Suicide is on my list of must-read books for survivors of suicide loss.”

“Once again, Gary Thomas challenges me to live passionately for God and to apply his transforming power to my daily decisions.”
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“This book is for people of faith who are ready to fight racism not merely by educating ourselves but by moving towards courageous action in diverse community. Jemar’s work at the intersection of awareness, relationships, and commitment will serve the church as we seek to be reconciled, justice-oriented people. The varied narratives and concrete applications Jemar shares are in line with the integrity he has as a leader who is engaged in this multiethnic civil rights moment. SANDRA MARIA VAN OPSTAL, executive director of Chasing Justice How to Fight Racism by Jemar Tisby has come at a perfect moment for the church. While racism in America is a highly complex, multilayered reality with a variety of definitions, lived experiences, and proposed solutions, the church of Jesus Christ stands as the only viable hope for ending racism. Even though the church has a mixed record when it comes to racism, it is our fight! If you’re new to the fight or could benefit from a concrete road map to a more just and merciful society, this beautiful book makes the complex doable.”

The Hole in Our Gospel 2025 Edition
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“Rich Stearns has penned a passionate and persuasive book aimed at Christians who find themselves absorbed absorbed with their own existence: pursuing the American dream of health, wealth, and happiness. Rich traces his own spiritual journey from having it all to sacrificial living on behalf of those who have nothing. Not only is Rich eloquent, he’s right.”
What Grieving People Wish You Knew about What Really Helps (and What Really Hurts)
Christian Living
“In the aftermath of deep loss, grievers struggle to articulate what is helpful. These honest and practical suggestions will equip tenderhearted people to come alongside us as we grieve.”
Women
“Historically the study of theology has been the domain of men, but Carolyn James argues with both logic and passion that knowing and loving God must be the pursuit of all who are called his children. This book moved me to seek God more vigorously. Read it and pass it on to your daughter!”
When the Church Harms God's People
Church Leadership & Ministry
“In When the Church Harms God’s People, Diane Langberg brilliantly outlines how the church—the sheepfold of God—can morph into deceptive or abusive religious systems that damage the very sheep they are charged with protecting and nurturing. Langberg doesn’t mince words as she exposes what perpetuates evil, and she is equally eloquent in her plea for pastors and leaders to carefully examine themselves in light of God’s standards for holy and loving under-shepherds. Langberg never fails to stir my heart toward greater Christlikeness!”

“In times of suffering, we often seek advice from others who have gone through similar difficulties, hoping to find comfort, reassurance, and answers to our search for how we, too, might survive and thrive. Never satisfied with trite or predictable responses, the authors instead lay out a potential roadmap through the dark days of anguish, illness, and trouble with fresh words of hope that stirred my soul.”
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“I will never forget Joanna, the first woman I met who was dying from AIDS. She was living under a tree, having been expelled from her rural village in Mozambique because of stigma. Where was the church of Jesus Christ in her terrible suffering? Women, HIV, and the Church urgently calls us in the global church to act on behalf of the millions of other 'Joannas' who desperately need compassion and practical assistance from those who name his name.”
