“Robinson makes a powerful argument that the doctrine of original sin and its derivative notion of total inability stand contrary to Scripture, emerging as a reactionary movement of Augustine to the Pelagian controversy. Similarly, Robinson constructs a strong case that a divinely deterministic decree to salvation or condemnation would have been rejected by the biblical authors. Proponents of such doctrines need to honestly wrestle with the critiques Robinson poses.”
