Biography

Kirsopp Lake (1872–1946) was educated at St. Paul's School and Lincoln College. Lake previously served as a curate at St. Mary the Virgin in Oxford, as Professor of Early Christian Literature and New Testament Exegesis at Leiden, as a professor of early Christian literature and of ecclesiastical history at Harvard, and as a visiting professor at the Episcopal Theological School. Lake's books include Landmarks in the History of Early Christianity, Codex 1 of the Gospels and Its Allies, and The Historical Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
