Called for Freedom

Theology

“"A 'must read' for all interested in current debates among Latin American liberation theologians, and more broadly, on the eve of the third millennium, for all wondering about the meaning of the good news of the coming of God's reign in history.”

Justice Church

Theology

“"No one has been more passionately involved than Frederick Herzog in responding to the challenges to mainstream North American Christianity from Latin American and black liberation theologians. Addressing liberal Protestant theology and denominational structures in 'Justice Church,' Herzog unfolds a new theological method and a new understanding of the church. This is an important book for all who believe that Christian faith involves response to injustice.”

Toward a Christian Political Ethics

“The author's aim is to help develop a framework, set an agenda, and clarify criteria for making political choices.... This book is a welcome addition to the literature on political ethics, and a substantial antidote to influential works which, in the name of scientific rationality and realism, legitimate the status quo in the Third World.”
