Ezekiel

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“The writing of this volume reflects years of devoted attention to the book of Ezekiel for the benefit of seminary students, clergy, and laity, and it is intended for these wider constituencies.”

Interpreting the Old Testament

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“This book is a splendid introduction to the exegesis of the Old Testament. It presents and critiques the range of scholarly tools that have been developed to bring out the sense of Scripture and also gives hands-on examples of how they may be used in specific passages. Both the explanations given by the contributors and their citation of further reading in each area open doors for the serious student of the Old Testament to the meaning of the sacred text.”

Living as the Living Jesus

Christian Living

“Kenneth Wozniak has fruitfully explored the ethical dimension of the letter to the Hebrews. He finds that ethics is grounded in the person and work of Jesus, as in the Gospels. But, whereas the Gospels operate from his earthly lifework, Hebrews also focuses on heavenly aspects, his post-ascension exaltation and eternal nature. Readers will come away with a deeper appreciation of the development of the Letter and its ethical orientation.”

Praying Curses

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“"Dr. Nehrbass has carried out a brave and necessary task in this project, whose progress from dissertation to publication I applaud. Contemporary culture cannot say a good word for the imprecatory psalms, while Christians whose sole mantra is 'God is love' are equally dismissive. The author explores a contrarian track by studying these texts on their own terms with the aid of biblical scholarship and by demonstrating their positive value with the aid of ethical and psychological studies.”

Psalms

Biblical Studies & Commentaries

“Geoffrey Grogan whetted readers' appetites with his earlier work on the theology of the Psalms. A proven exegete and theologian, he now brings this double gift to the text. He also provides an introduction to the Psalms as ancient literature. In keeping with the Two Horizons series, he presents the theology of the Psalter and evaluates it in terms of the Bible and Christian doctrine.”
