Lesslie Newbigin
Biography
Lesslie Newbigin (1909–1998) served as a missionary in India, where Newbigin was a founding bishop of the Church in South India and later Bishop in Madras. Newbigin also held leadership roles with the International Missionary Council and served as associate general secretary of the World Council of Churches, and as Moderator of the United Reformed Church in the UK. Newbigin received honorary doctorates from the University of Cambridge and the University of Edinburgh. Newbigin's books include A Faith for this One World, The Reunion of the Church, Revised Edition, and Honest Religion for Secular Man.
