“Caroline Simon defends sexual integrity, but that's not her sole intention. With clarity and care Simon describes cultural lenses used to determine what we believe about flirting, premarital sex, prostitution and other sexual behaviors. She challenges readers to avoid simplistic explanations of perspectives other than their own as she helps us understand how each leads to consistent beliefs about sexual behaviors. Simon's readable, philosophical study of sex makes an important contribution to the field.”

“With grace and humility Elizabeth tells an inspiring story of a mom who set out to intentionally talk with her daughters about sex and sexuality. Facing "The Talk" describes what worked and what didn't as Elizabeth sought to negotiate contemporary culture, Christian faith and adolescent sexuality. Above all, Elizabeth shows us a mother who pays attention, who hopes her daughters make different choices than she did and who will love them no matter what choices they make. I highly recommend Facing "The Talk" to any mother wanting guidance in the challenge of talking to daughters about sex.”

“Weaving personal passion and professional acumen, Vos invites readers to consider the stranger. Vos’s integration of Christian faith with sociological theory and research offers a timely response to the widening cultural divides between ‘us’ and ‘them.’ This sometimes piercing critique is accompanied with stories, bringing faces and histories to the strangers living near and far, making the stranger less strange. Strangers and Scapegoats reminds Christians of our countercultural distinctive to welcome the stranger, to love our neighbor.”
Marriage, Family & Relationships
“Dennis Hiebert offers a provoking challenge to contemporary ideas (Christian and secular) about marriage. From mate selection to intimacy, Dennis suggests 'mandates' we hold about marriage are less biblical than cultural, more influenced by Western individualism than Christian truth. Rather than offering another inspiring read of what marriage can be, Sweet Surrender provides a corrective to unrealistic expectations couples hold for this ever-changing institution.”

“Jenell Williams Paris brings a fresh perspective to the subject of sexual identity as she reminds us that we are all just people and far from perfect, 'each of whom is lover and loved.' She invites us to extend and receive grace even as she boldly encourages us to think a bit differently than we might about sexuality. I highly recommend it.”
The Significance of Singleness
Christian Living
“Hitchcock boldly asserts that the Holy Spirit’s empowering of people has never been limited by marital status. She builds a theology of singleness that challenges Western ideas of true love as always and exclusively sexual, and she rightly confronts our notion that marriage is the only proper foundation from which to build and nurture the church. The Significance of Singleness is an encouraging, unique, and thoughtful contribution to the literature on singleness.”

“Wesley Hill graciously offers himself in Washed and Waiting. He holds on to faith and hope while describing his own dark night of the soul as a gay man committed to the church’s long-standing position of abstinence outside of heterosexual marriage. Straight people gain an empathetic understanding of homosexuality, and gay and lesbian Christians committed to celibacy will find a companion who identifies with their pain and loneliness. We are all reminded of the challenges associated with our striving for intimacy, sexual purity, and wholeness. A worthy read.”
