Marriage, Family & Relationships
“Robbie Castleman does wonders in this book! She actually does show how 'training children to pay attention to God . . . is one rare way to have your cake and eat it too.' Her biblically grounded theology and experientially tested practical ideas give us wonderful suggestions that deepen our own participation in worship, even while we help children truly worship instead of merely keeping quiet. This book is essential--for pastors, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, parents and every other member of the congregation (since we all are responsible for forming the church's offspring). The Christian community could be changed by this book; read it avidly and give it to everyone you know.”
Bible Studies & Devotionals
“Stephen Binz has done an admirable job of introducing his readers to the process of lectio divina and immersing them in it. Through teaching the practice of this ancient way of studying the Bible, this series of Scripture studies will recharge and deepen the faith and lives of many, who thereafter will use the art for private devotions and/or in small groups. I heartily recommend this series to individuals and churches who want to join in the spirited revival of Christianity in our time!”
Pictures at a Theological Exhibition
Theology
“I have always loved Pictures at an Exhibition, both the music and the art, and now that Vanhoozer has structured his theology book according to its promenade and galleries, I will remember his descriptions and clarifications that much better. He is a meticulous explainer, so his work in this book is very unambiguous as he reckons with many issues such as the role of a pastor in interpreting a text, the affective relation of doctrine and worship, and debates about cognitive enhancement. Then there is the added presentation of his artistic sermons. Don't miss this display!”
Christian Living
“This is the perfect culmination to Eugene Peterson's fivefold Conversations in Spiritual Theology. How much the church would be transfigured if we could all more fully live as one with Christ in His Resurrection! You will delight in the way Peterson takes portions of Ephesians and displays the results of 'rocket' verbs and other word choices, of disciplines toward maturity, and of movements 'upward, inward, Godward.' This is a life-transforming book for us all!”
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“Lisa Richmond's new translation echoes Ellul's radicality and revolutionary fervor--a brilliant experience. Enjoy this powerful opportunity!”
Quotes for the Journey, Wisdom for the Way
Christian Living
“In addition to the benefits that Jackson suggests in his introduction, this book adds this gift: it introduces us to faithful and perceptive Christians whose greater wisdom we are inspired to seek in larger contexts because of the gems quoted here. This book has given me many bright jewels of colorful depth for further reflection.”
Ethics, Culture & Social Issues
“Chris Rice and Emmanuel Katongole know how much genuine reconciliation costs; therefore, they are perfect leaders to teach us not to take the task too lightly or to try to bring it about too superficially. This is a critically important book and an incisive beginning to what promises to be a world-changing series. Christians have a unique vision to live--the new creation of wholehearted community!”
Christian Living
“One can tell that the Holcombs have extensive experience working with victims of various kinds of assault because this book is so comprehensive in elucidating the types of healing necessary. Thoroughly researched, richly evangelical in theology, strongly assertive to deliver from blame and guilt, Rid of My Disgrace is heartily recommended for all who suffer from sexual exploitation.”
Christian Living
“Every voice prodding us to keep the sabbath in these hectic times is urgently needed. Lynne Baab's voice is clear; her suggestions apply to a great diversity of people; her own practice offers an excellent model. Keeping the sabbath changed my life; I pray that you too know the freedom of its rest.”
Evangelism & Missions
“Tim Dearborn is extraordinarily wise. This workbook is an outstanding guide to help all Christians think more thoroughly about our mission in the world—wherever and however we serve. The questions in this manual are useful for each of us personally, for discussion groups, for congregations. They challenge our assumptions, upset our provincialisms, widen our horizons, and deepen our visions. Most of all, this guide ushers us into following Jesus more faithfully—globally and locally.”
Teaching the Faith, Forming the Faithful
Discipleship & Christian Education
“Although Parrett and Kang seem to misread my priorities in my first book on worship, still I heartily recommend their work! In this book's massive thoroughness, they skillfully explore all the major questions for a congregation's educational ministry. This volume's comprehensive view of spiritual formation is critically necessary—and intensively beneficial!—reading for everyone who serves to teach the faith, from the preschool Sunday school teacher to the senior pastor!”
Preaching & Worship
“John Wright very clearly exposes both the prevalence and dangers of the split between 'personal salvation' and 'mission of the nation-state' preaching in North American culture and calls us instead to the kind of preaching that will immerse our listeners in God's larger story. His many helpful insights into such topics as a 'homiletic of turning,' comedic versus tragic moves, therapeutic and managerial functions, and elements of congregational contexts will positively affect your preaching and pastoral care. This is a significantly constructive book!”
Transforming Congregational Culture
Church Leadership & Ministry
“This book is a 'must read' for all clergy and lay leaders in the twenty-first century. Anthony Robinson offers rare gifts -- the honed observations of an experienced pastor, gracious humility and honest repentance for his own mistakes, a keen comprehension of the massive changes in our society, and urgent challenges for churches to be biblically transformed into missional communities. These are gems your church needs.”
Preaching & Worship
“One could not praise this book too much! Harold Best follows his own advice and writes with 'richness, range, comprehension, and temperate and timely word choices.' His phrases are weighty and elegant; a vibrantly truthful person, his language always points out idolatries, invites our reform and celebrates the grand diversity of the creation's worship-full 'outpourings.' If we would live what Best teaches, both we and our churches would be revived!”
Prayer & Spiritual Formation
“Travis Scholl contributes a thorough model for those of us who have little experience with the discipline of walking a labyrinth. . . . This is a heart-provoking book!”
History & Biography
“Gerald Sittser offers us two enormous gifts in this compelling history of Christian spirituality--a wonderfully flowing narrative that catches us up into the lives and practices of great saints, and voluminous endnotes so that we can pursue more thoroughly the topics and characters he describes. This beautiful book will widen everyone's spirituality, for Sittser introduces us to an extensive range of eras and their greatest contributions. Taste and see--this book will deepen you!”

Preaching & Worship
“"By means of this clear retelling of the sad story of the Christendom-bing down of the Church, Rob Hewell wants to repoliticize worshipers . . . This is a crucial story to repeat and a brilliant understanding of the result of worship. Thus this is a must book for every worship leader--and for every Christ-follower.”
